天行有常
自然运行的规律是固定不变的。古人就意识到自然运行的规律有其确定性。关键在于，这些规律不会因为人世间的事务变化或者人们对自然的态度而有所改变。自然的运行，就是人伦社会稳定的根基，对人伦事务产生稳定的作用。当然，不同学者对于自然规律的具体内容以及人与自然的关系，看法并非完全相同。
Nature's Ways Are Constant
Natural changes operate under fixed rules. Ancient Chinese recognized that natural changes followed specific patterns. Crucially, these patterns or laws governing nature remain steady and are not swayed by changes in human affairs or attitudes towards nature. Thus, the ways of nature provide a stable backdrop for human life and exert a steady influence on people and their undertakings. Nonetheless, scholars differ in their interpretations of the precise nature of natural laws and the connection between nature and humanity.
引例 天行有常，不为尧存，不为桀亡。（《荀子·天论》）（大自然的运行自有其规律，不会因为尧的德政而存在，也不会因为桀的暴虐而消失。）
